Pattaya Day Trip from Bangkok — a Chauffeured Coast Day
Pattaya sits about 145 km south of Bangkok on Motorway 7 — roughly 90–120 minutes each way off-peak. A coast day is our chauffeured take on the Pattaya day trip: your ZEEKR 009 drives you down, shuttles between the coastal sights at your own pace — the Sanctuary of Truth, Nong Nooch, a Jomtien beach lunch — and brings you back to Bangkok the same evening, usually a 10–12 hour day. You tour each stop yourself; there's no guide and we don't sell tickets. Because the day is built around your stops, we price it on WhatsApp or LINE rather than a fixed fare. If you only need the drive, see the flat-rate one-way [Bangkok to Pattaya transfer](/transfer/bangkok-to-pattaya) or the [same-day return](/rates) — each fare is published on its own page.

01How the coast day works
Morning pickup from your Bangkok hotel, then the drive down to Pattaya on Motorway 7. Once you're on the coast, the car becomes your base for the day: it moves you between the sights you've chosen, waits while you explore each one, and stays with you until the drive back to Bangkok in the evening — usually a 10–12 hour day door to door. The chauffeur handles all the driving, parking and waiting; you decide which stops to make, how long to spend, and the order. It's a chauffeured day, not a guided tour — we drive, you tour. We don't lead you around a site or sell entry tickets, so you buy admission at each attraction yourself and keep your own pace.
02How long the drive takes
Bangkok to Pattaya is about 145 km via Motorway 7, the Bangkok–Chonburi–Pattaya motorway — 90–120 minutes each way off-peak. Friday-evening departures out of Bangkok and Sunday-afternoon returns are the slow windows, stretching to 2–3 hours, and we plan the pickup time around them. Within Pattaya the sights are spread along the coast rather than clustered together, so part of the day is short hops between them — which is exactly what the car is there to absorb.
03What you can build into the day
The usual anchors are the Sanctuary of Truth (the towering carved all-teak sanctuary on the seafront), Nong Nooch Tropical Garden (landscaped gardens and cultural shows), and the Pattaya and Jomtien / Na Jomtien beaches for a seafood lunch by the water. Families often add the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, an open-enclosure zoo in the hills outside the city. You pick the mix when you book and we route the day around it. Opening days and hours vary by season, so we confirm the day's timings with you before pickup rather than lock you to a schedule.
04Koh Larn and the islands — how the pier works
The car can't cross to Koh Larn, the island many searchers know as Coral Island — it's a passenger-ferry or speedboat hop from Bali Hai pier. What we can do is drive you to the pier, then wait or come back to collect you at an agreed time and take you on to your next stop or back to Bangkok. The ferry runs a set number of crossings through the day rather than on demand, so we time the pier drop to a sailing and confirm that day's schedule when you book.
05The car, and one honest note on size
Every coast day runs in the ZEEKR 009 Executive Black — a private electric MPV with a 2+2 captain-chair cabin for up to 4 passengers, privacy glass on the rear and side windows, private 5G Wi-Fi, USB-C charging at every seat and chilled water onboard. Tolls, Motorway 7 fees, parking and fuel are all part of the quote, and your chauffeur is English-speaking. The honest note is on size: it's a private MPV marketed for 4 in the 2+2 captain cabin, with a fifth seat next to the chauffeur if you need it, generous luggage room and space for a full-size stroller — genuine room for a family or small group and their bags, not a 10-seat passenger van.
06How it compares to the flat-rate Pattaya transfers
If you only need to get to Pattaya and back, two fixed-price options are simpler than a coast day. The flat-rate one-way Bangkok to Pattaya transfer is door to door, its fare published on that page. The same-day return covers the drive down, up to 4 hours of chauffeur wait in Pattaya, and the drive back — right for a single lunch or one attraction, with its price on the rates page. The coast day is the step up from there: more hours on the coast and several stops in one run, which is why it's quoted rather than fixed. Weighing a different destination? The Bangkok floating markets day is the same self-tour, chauffeur-shuttle idea west of the city, and our Bangkok–Pattaya day-trip guide walks through timing and what's worth the drive.
07FAQ
- Can you do a day trip to Pattaya from Bangkok?
- Yes — a coast day is exactly that. We pick you up from your Bangkok hotel in the morning, drive down to Pattaya (about 90–120 minutes on Motorway 7), spend the day moving between the coastal sights you've chosen, and drive you back the same evening — usually 10–12 hours door to door. You tour each stop at your own pace while the chauffeur handles the driving and the waiting.
- Do you include a guide or entry tickets?
- No. This is a chauffeured transfer day, not a guided tour: we drive you between the sights and wait, but we don't lead the visit or sell admission. You buy entry at each attraction yourself, which keeps you free to spend as long as you like at the ones you enjoy and skip the ones you don't.
- How far is Pattaya from Bangkok, and how long is the day?
- Pattaya is about 145 km from Bangkok via Motorway 7 — 90–120 minutes each way off-peak, and 2–3 hours on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons when the motorway is busiest. A full coast day, with several stops, is usually 10–12 hours from hotel pickup to the drop back in Bangkok.
- Can we visit Koh Larn (Coral Island) on the coast day?
- The car can't cross to the island, so we drive you to Bali Hai pier and you take the passenger ferry or a speedboat across; we wait or come back to collect you at an agreed time. The ferry runs a set number of crossings through the day rather than on demand, so we plan the pier drop around a sailing and confirm that day's schedule when you book.
- How much does a Pattaya coast day cost?
- Because the day is built around your stops and how long you spend on the coast, we quote it individually rather than list a fixed fare — send us your plan on WhatsApp or LINE and we'll price it. If you only want the drive, those fares are fixed and published on their own pages: the one-way Bangkok to Pattaya transfer and the same-day return with up to 4 hours of Pattaya wait.
- How many passengers fit?
- Four in the 2+2 captain-chair cabin, with room for the group's luggage and a full-size double stroller in the trunk. There's also a fifth seat next to the chauffeur if you need it. It's a private MPV, not a 10-seat passenger van.

“Very comfortable journey, driver was very patient and polite, explained how to recline the seats before heading out to make the journey as comfortable as possible. New car but the driver made all the difference!”
