01How long the drive takes

Bangkok to Sai Yok district is roughly 250 km — 130 km Bangkok→Kanchanaburi town via Highway 4 + Highway 323, then another 80–120 km west through the Sai Yok valley to your resort. Off-peak: 3.5 to 4 hours each way; Friday late-afternoon traffic on Route 4 can stretch the run by 45–60 minutes. We plan around it.

02Which resorts the THB 14,000 tier covers

The Sai Yok-tier rate covers the deeper-province River Kwai resorts: River Kwai Jungle Rafts (floating raft rooms on the river), FloatHouse River Kwai (over-water villas), River Kwai Resotel (lawn-front bungalows), Hintok River Camp, and similar bungalow / floating-raft properties in Sai Yok district. Hotels in Kanchanaburi town (FX Kanchanaburi, Royal Riverkwai, the riverside ones near the Bridge) are the town tier at THB 10,000 — see the Bangkok ↔ Kanchanaburi page.

03Why we don't offer same-day return

Sai Yok rewards the slower visit it's built for. With 3.5–4 hours of driving each way, a same-day round trip leaves no daylight for the river, the rafts, the bamboo bar, the elephant sanctuary nearby, or the train ride across the Tham Krasae viaduct — the reasons you booked the resort. Most guests stay 1–3 nights. Book the one-way out on arrival day; book the return on the day you head back to Bangkok.

04FAQ

Is FloatHouse / Jungle Rafts / Resotel covered by THB 14,000?
Yes — FloatHouse River Kwai, River Kwai Jungle Rafts, and River Kwai Resotel are the three flagship Sai Yok-tier resorts. Hintok River Camp and similar bungalow properties in the Sai Yok valley are also on the THB 14,000 tier. If your resort isn't on the list, send us the name on the booking form and we'll confirm the tier.
Can the chauffeur drive across the resort's pier or bridge?
Some Sai Yok resorts (notably River Kwai Jungle Rafts and FloatHouse) are reached by a short longtail boat from a riverside pier — vehicles can't cross. The chauffeur drops you at the resort's pier or land lobby; the resort handles the boat shuttle. Tell us your resort during booking and we'll target the correct drop point.
Do you also do day trips to Sai Yok or Erawan Falls?
No — Sai Yok and Erawan are too far from Bangkok for a comfortable same-day return. We drop you at the resort, and a Kanchanaburi-local driver (THB 1,500–2,000 from your hotel) handles Erawan Falls, the Death Railway scenic train at Tham Krasae, Hellfire Pass, and any other local sightseeing. We can introduce you to one on request.
