Bangkok Floating Markets by Private Car — Damnoen Saduak, Maeklong & Amphawa
The floating markets sit west of Bangkok: Damnoen Saduak's canal packed with longtail boats, the Maeklong railway market where the train slides right through the stalls, and Amphawa's weekend waterfront. We drive you out in a ZEEKR 009 Executive Black with a uniformed, English-speaking chauffeur, shuttle you between the markets at your own pace, and bring you home the same day. It's a chauffeured day, not a guided tour — you wander the markets, we handle the car. There's no fixed published fare because the day flexes with your date and which markets you pick, so we quote it per day: message us on WhatsApp or LINE and we send a price back.

01What you're booking — a private car for a floating-markets day, not a tour
One private car for the whole day, one chauffeur, up to four passengers in the 2+2 captain-chair cabin. We drive you out to the Bangkok floating markets, wait while you explore each one, and drive you back — the same chauffeured-day model as our Bangkok to Ayutthaya day trip, where the car shuttles you between sites and you set the pace. We are not a guide service: there's no guide walking you around, and we don't sell market entries or boat tickets. You wander the stalls and arrange any boat ride yourself, on the spot, while your chauffeur stays with the car. The cabin is a quiet electric ride with privacy glass, private 5G Wi-Fi, USB-C at every seat, and chilled water — and the trunk swallows a full-size double stroller, which matters on a market day with small kids.
02Three ways to run the day
Morning run (any day): an early start for Damnoen Saduak while the canal is busy and the light is good, then Maeklong railway market, timed so you're there as a train eases through the stalls — about 6–7 hours door to door, back in Bangkok by early afternoon. Evening run (Friday–Sunday): a later start, Maeklong in the afternoon, then Amphawa as it comes alive at dusk, with optional firefly boats you arrange at the pier — about 7–8 hours. Full circuit (Friday–Sunday): Damnoen Saduak in the morning, Maeklong, a relaxed lunch, then Amphawa in the evening — the long version, about 11–12 hours, the same day-length as the Ayutthaya day trip. Tell us which one fits and we build the timing around it.
03How the markets keep their own time
Each market runs to its own clock, and that shapes the day more than the driving does. Damnoen Saduak is a morning market — go early or the boats thin out. The Maeklong railway market is at its best in the minutes the train passes: it comes through a handful of times a day on a fixed timetable, so we time your visit to a pass and confirm the exact schedule with you when you book. Amphawa only really wakes up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, which is why the Amphawa floating market and its firefly boats sit in the evening and weekend runs. Tell us which markets matter most to you and we build the run around their hours.
04What's included, what's not
Included: the car for the whole day, your English-speaking chauffeur, expressway tolls, parking, fuel, chilled water, private 5G Wi-Fi and USB-C charging — the driving and the waiting between stops are all ours. Not included: market entries, longtail and firefly boat rides, and food at the stalls, which you pay on the spot directly to the operators; and there's no guide — you explore each market yourself. That keeps the day simple: you decide what to see and how long to linger, and the car is always there when you walk back out.
05Get a quote — and the one-car reality
Message us on WhatsApp or LINE (LINE @sabairide) with your date, your Bangkok hotel, and which of the three runs you'd like; dispatch is 24/7 and we'll reply with a per-day price. Because SabaiRide runs a single car, the Friday–Sunday evening runs to Amphawa depend on the car being free that evening — on a date with no late airport pickup, the sunset is yours. Ask early for weekend evenings and we'll confirm either way. A private car to the floating markets means your own schedule, air-conditioned quiet between stops, and a chauffeur who waits, so you never have to clock-watch.
06FAQ
- Which floating market should we choose?
- Damnoen Saduak is the big, photogenic canal market and it's a morning market — best done early. Maeklong is the railway market, where the awnings fold back as the train passes; it's the one people mean by the Maeklong railway market, and we time your visit to a train pass. Amphawa is smaller and local, and it only comes alive on Friday–Sunday evenings. The morning run pairs Damnoen Saduak with Maeklong; Amphawa needs an evening or full-circuit day on a weekend — tell us your date and we'll suggest the run that fits.
- Will we see the train come through Maeklong?
- That's the plan. The train runs through the Maeklong railway market to a fixed daily timetable — a handful of passes a day — so we build the stop around a pass rather than leaving it to chance. Because timetables shift, we confirm the day's schedule with you when you book and plan the drive so you're standing in the market when it comes through.
- Do you arrange the boat rides or entrance fees?
- No. We drop you at each market and wait with the car; longtail boat rides at Damnoen Saduak, firefly boats at Amphawa, and any small market entries are paid on the spot, directly to the operators. There's no guide either — you explore the markets yourself, which most guests prefer. What we handle is the whole car side of the day: the driving, the tolls, the parking and the waiting.
- Can we do Amphawa and its firefly boats in the evening?
- Yes, on Friday, Saturday or Sunday — that's when Amphawa is at its best. It runs as the evening run (with Maeklong in the afternoon) or as the tail end of the full circuit. One thing to know: we run a single car, so a weekend evening in Amphawa depends on the car not being held for a late airport pickup that night. Ask us early with your date and we'll confirm it's free.
“Amazing experience to the airport. The car is in impeccable condition and the service was outstanding. Will def use them again.”
“Very comfortable journey, driver was very patient and polite, explained how to recline the seats before heading out to make the journey as comfortable as possible. New car but the driver made all the difference!”
