01How long the drive takes

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi is roughly 130 km via Highway 4 and Highway 323. Off-peak: 2 to 2.5 hours each way. Weekend morning departures from Sukhumvit are smoothest. Friday late-afternoon traffic on Route 4 can stretch the run by 45–60 minutes — we plan around it.

02What package fits

Half Day (5 hours, THB 7,000) covers the round trip plus the Bridge over the River Kwai, the JEATH War Museum, and the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery — all clustered in town. Full Day (10 hours, THB 10,000) makes sense if you want to add Erawan Falls (another 80 km / 90 min west) or the Death Railway scenic train ride at Tham Krasae viaduct.

03What to see

Bridge over the River Kwai (the iconic black steel arch), the Death Railway and JEATH War Museum (sobering wartime history from the POW camps), Hellfire Pass Memorial (Australia-managed, 40 minutes further west), Erawan National Park (a 7-tier turquoise waterfall on an easy 2 km hike), and the riverside floating restaurants in town for a long lunch.

04FAQ

Do you arrange entry tickets?
No, but tickets are inexpensive and bought on arrival: Erawan National Park is THB 300 (foreigner), JEATH Museum THB 50, Hellfire Pass free with optional donation. Your chauffeur knows the queue patterns and directs you to the quietest entrance.
Is Erawan Falls worth the extra time?
Yes if you're booking the Full Day package and like nature. The trail is well-paved for the first 4 tiers and gets rougher from tier 5 to 7. November to February is dry-cool season — water flow is moderate. June to October is best for water volume but the trails get slippery.
Can we do the Death Railway scenic train ride?
Yes — the State Railway runs trains across the Tham Krasae wooden viaduct (50 km west of Kanchanaburi town). Two departures daily from Kanchanaburi station. Your chauffeur drops you at the station, drives ahead to the next stop, and meets you off the train. This works best inside the Full Day package.
